book 01

Drum bound books–a collection of 12 to 20 prints

The three 10 x 59.5 copper plates from the second Burra print series were used to create five hand-bound and boxed editioned books. Two of these books are artist proofs; the remaining three are available for acquisition.

Each print was treated using the different methods of blind embossing (no ink); relief roll (ink rolled on top); ink wiped plate (ink pushed into image area), or embossed or printed onto chine collé of either white Hosho paper and black Mingeishi paper.

All the pages in the books are either Somerset Velvet soft white 300gsm or Hahnemühle paper 300gsm. Each book measures 34 cm x 12cm.

The plates are printed using Charbonnel inks.

All covers, endpapers and boxes are hand-made using acid-free materials, including the inks, pastes, papers, and boards.
