Lisa is an Aboriginal artist who has connections to Wagga Wagga, northern Victoria, South Australia, Northern NSW and across the seas to Wales and Scotland. She was born, and continues to live on, Gadigal Land. Lisa has identified as Aboriginal since her late teens and is still working to connect with her extended family. Following Lisas’ hospital-based nursing training, she became was a screen printer and graphic artist, to some success. She became a part-time photographer, did some illustration work and silk painting during her years at medical school and training in public health. In more recent years, as Lisa’s academic and research career blossomed, she re-engaged with her passion for printing, and started connecting with aluminium plate, linocut and copperplate printing methods. She is a keen book binder and is enjoying the freedoms recounting her passions on plate and creating books and prints for her work.
